We provide a full strip and refinish service for damaged and undamaged wheels that results in a clean, flawless finish with long-lasting results.
All work is carried out in our workshop by AWR founder John Davey and his small team using top quality materials. We do everything by hand and eye using specialist tools and machinery. Nothing is automated or sub-contracted out.
We take pride in what we do and have built an outstanding reputation in a short space of time for the quality of our materials and our OEM and better-than-factory finish. Put simply, if John wouldn’t have it on his own car, we won’t put it out.
We offer an extensive range of colours and can match to an existing colour if not replacing a full set of wheels. For single colour finishes we use a three-stage application process to ensure a high-quality and durable finish. This consists of a powder coat, primer and colour. We use water-based products because they offer a greater choice of colours, the metallics keep their colour better and the colours stay brighter.
Our full strip and refinish process comprises:
Wheels off, tyres off, good wash
Acid bath to remove existing coatings
Dried for out-gassing which brings impurities to the surface
Sandblasted to remove kerb damage and other blemishes
Replace what’s missing, reshape
Primer coat then colour applied using a spray gun

Our full strip and refinish service is by appointment only.
Prices start from £85 including tyre fitting and balancing
A £100 non-returnable deposit is required on booking a full set of wheels.
Turnaround time is usually two to three days.

Custom Colours
Customise your vehicle by choosing a new colour for your wheels that looks better than a factory finish. This is offered as part of our full strip and refinish service, or on its own as colour change option.
